A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday granted activist Omoyele Sowore fresh bail of ₦200 million, weeks after revoking his earlier bail for missing trial. Justice Muhammad Umar ordered two sureties — one a traditional ruler from his community, the other with landed property in the FCT — and the deposit of his international passport. Sowore was handed over to his lawyers after the ruling and is to open his defence on Monday, July 6. He is being prosecuted by the DSS over cybercrime allegations tied to social media posts where he allegedly called President Bola Tinubu “a criminal.” He has pleaded not guilty. “They have always been after the passport. So nobody can come after our movement… it is not about my freedom; it is about the liberation of the Nigerian people,” Sowore said after the ruling. His bail was revoked June 16 following his absence from court, leading to his remand in Kuje Correctional Centre until Tuesday’s fresh bail application.

We Don’t Support Atiku Abubakar Because of Personal Gain. That’s a Lie ~ Victor Marcus Our support for His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is based on principle. He speaks up when others stay silent. He stands against intimidation, harassment, and the blatant abuse of the rule of law. Note: Atiku publicly condemned Tinubu, the judiciary, and INEC for their illegal attempt to deregister the NDC party ahead of the next election. That took courage. That’s leadership. Remember last week? The same political force came for the ADC. Many of you clapped. Your leaders celebrated. You mocked the ADC and said it was good Peter Obi left before the crisis hit. That’s not opposition. That’s hypocrisy. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Atiku has shown, again and again, that he is a nationalist. For that alone, he deserves Nigerians’ respect. Dislike him if you want. But insulting him and throwing tantrums at his name is an attack on all of us in the opposition. That’s exactly what T...

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has declared that the Federal Government is not afra¡d of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi. Speaking on the Mic On Podcast, Dare dism¡ssed claims that Obi remains a political n¡ghtmare, insisting that while he may have been seen as a thr£at in the past, the Tinubu administration now stands on what he described as a “solid ground of performance.” According to him, President Tinubu has no reason to resign, stressing that Nigeria operates a constitutional democracy where leaders are chosen through elections every four years. Dare also argued that the government has every right to respond to Obi’s cr¡t¡cisms, just as Obi has the right to express his opinions. He concluded by saying he does not believe Peter Obi can defeat President Tinubu in Lagos again.

NDC National Leader, Seriake Dickson, says President Bola Tinubu and the APC will face a “massive defeat” in the 2027 general elections, if Nigerians are allowed to vote in a free and fair contest. Dickson argued that many Nigerians remain d¡ssatisfied with the current administration and called for an open democratic process where all political parties can participate without interference. “Allow every party that wants to contest. You can only defeat them in an electoral contest. So, let us have a free and fair election,” he said. The former Bayelsa governor also disclosed that the NDC is open to discussions with other opposition parties ahead of 2027, while dismissing a lawsuit seeking the party’s deregistration as politically motivated and without merit. He maintained that the NDC remains legally registered and confident of participating fully in future elections.

Fresh controversy has erupted over the court ruling involving the NDC Party as the party's National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, rejected the decision and insisted that the court had already delivered a well-considered judgment ordering the registration of the NDC. According to him, the NDC started the process of registering a political party in 2017 with an elephant as its logo. Along the line, the party realized another party already had the elephant as its logo, so it applied to INEC to change it and introduced the victory sign in 2024. He said there was no problem until September 2025, when INEC wrote to the NDC saying it could not continue the registration process because, according to INEC, the NDC logo looked like that of the APC. Enekweizu said the NDC disagreed with INEC and even requested to be allowed to change the logo so that the registration process could continue, but INEC refused. The party then took INEC to court. He said at the time the case was filed, the N...

WISE FULANI BOY

A Fulani herdsman, Ibrahim, has openly declared that he would rather vote for Peter Obi than repeat the present government. According to him, "I, Ibrahim, a real Fulani boy. This is my voter's card. I will rather vote for Peter Obi than to repeat this government. That is my choice. Yes, I said it. Peter Obi will be my candidate." He said Nigerians have voted for religion and voted for tribalism, but "it doesn't work." He added, "So let us vote for the right person. That's the fact. I choose to vote Peter Obi than to vote this government." Speaking further, Ibrahim said, "We the Fulanis, every single day, we are løsing our lives. Our cows will be pursued, our brothers will be k¡dn@pped, and it will be silent." He also said, "Therefore, Fulanis' matter is always silent. Nobody needs to know a Fulani's matter because in your mind, you always think Fulanis are wrøng." He further claimed that whenever such inc...
